The Committee’s inaugural cocktail party was held in June of 2004, and its subsequent events have witnessed spectacular growth in popularity and success.

On October 25, 2007, the New York Junior Committee of Hearts held its fourth annual fall event. The Junior Committee of Hearts was formed with the goal of raising awareness of the Hedge Funds Care mission among rising industry professionals, and supporting children in the foster care system who are victims of child abuse. The Committee’s inaugural cocktail party was held in June of 2004, and its subsequent events have witnessed solid growth and success.
This year’s Fall Fête took place at Azza, a lounge on 55th Street in Midtown Manhattan. Over 225 professionals from the hedge fund industry helped to raise money to support foster youth scholarships to attend college. Hedge Funds Care grants support mentoring and financial assistance to these students who otherwise may not have the opportunity to go to college. This event raised over $55,000 in total, netting over $40,000 that will go towards mentoring and financial support for foster youth.
Attendees included hedge fund managers and professionals representing various organizations that invest in hedge fund strategies, as well as other investment firms and service providers. No matter what the role or affiliation was among the attendees, the common theme was the drive to further support the Hedge Funds Care initiative.
The New York Junior Committee of Hearts consists of Co-Chairs Jennifer Ancker of Graham Capital Management and Alissa Grad of D.B. The Hedge Funds Care New York Junior Committee of Hearts Summer Soiree was a huge success. We grossed over $100,000! Funds raised at this event are awarded to foster youth who have scholarships to attend college. Hedge Funds Care grants support mentoring and financial assistance to these students who otherwise may not have the opportunity to go to college. $48,000 provides the support that enables each student to complete a B.A. in four years.
