Welcome to Hedge Funds Care Boston!
Hedge Funds Care Boston was founded in 2005, and held its inaugural Open Your Heart to the Children Benefit on November 2, 2006. Thanks to our generous supporters, we were able to provide over $180,000 in grants to local organizations also committed to protecting children from abuse and neglect.
On October 18, 2007, the Boston chapter of Hedge Funds Care hosted their Second Annual Open Your Heart to the Children Benefit. The change of venue, atop 60 State Street, with sweeping views of the Boston harbor, with a more informal format, more conducive to socializing and networking, brought out over 300 people with representation from over 40 Boston based hedge funds. The event was hugely successful, raising over $180,000 to aid in the prevention and treatment of child abuse in the Boston area.
Highlights included a live auction with auctioneers from Christie’s where a South African safari, fly fishing trip to Aspen, Red Sox playoff tickets, opportunity to be a ball boy at a Celtics game, fine wines, and other premium Boston sports packages helped raise approximately $40,000. In addition, Patriots TE Ben Watson and his wife Kristen were in attendance to meet with the guests.
The evening concluded with large screens being lowered from the ceiling and the guests were able to enjoy watching the Red Sox beat Cleveland in game 5 of the ALCS.
